木皮者，鼓板也，嬉笑怒骂之具也。崇祯末年，先生以明经传家。为县令，迁部郎，鼎革后高尚不出。行年八十，笑骂不休。自曲阜移家滋阳。闭门著书数十卷。木皮子之嬉笑怒骂有愤心矣。乡人多不解。有沛县阎古古、诸城丁埜鹤为手订，付其子。盖阎、丁当时常往来其家云。
