北京曲剧。写于1951年。初载1952年1月《说说唱唱》。1952年2月宝文堂书店初版。收入1985年中国戏剧出版社出版《老舍剧作全集》第4卷。现收入《老舍文集》第12卷。剧本主人公李招弟从小做了王家的童养媳，后小丈夫又不幸溺毙，招弟受尽了婆婆和小姑的虐待。《婚姻法》颁布后，招弟在于部和群众的帮助下，终于摆脱了有名无实的婚姻，与意中人结合，开始了自己的新生活。剧本宣传了男女平等、自由婚恋的新观念。
