二四 翁鞋
鲍鉁著《稗勺》中有翁鞋一则云：“北人冬月履纳棉絮，臃肿粗坌，谓之翁鞋。李崆峒集中用之。当是老人所着，故名。”案北京今俗名老头儿乐，更有风趣。敦崇著《燕京岁时记》云：“五月下旬，则甜瓜已熟，沿街吆卖，有旱金坠青皮脆羊角蜜哈密酥倭瓜瓤老头儿乐各种。”然则瓜中亦有此名，大约即是南边所谓冷饭头瓜又名呃杀瓜者乎。假风雅人轻视民间物名，不能领取其鲜活的谐味，往往喜改为古语，此正是作木乃伊的手段也。翁鞋今未闻此名，如非崆峒所改作，则幸甚矣。
