《少村漫稿》分为上、下卷，上卷为诗，有七言诗165首，五言诗64首，绝句68首，古风15首，续刻诗有39首；下卷为文，计90篇。遗憾的是，此书木刻板失落和蠹蛀脱版较多，经初步考证，上卷脱版9版（每版为两半页），下卷脱版20版，特别在续刻中脱落二版，是廷用被俘返家后的作品，内容价值较多，失去甚为可惜。 此书内容大致是写他早年官宦经历与应酬，最有价值的是晚年一些文章与诗句
