十七卷,又《续录》十二卷,《摘录》十三卷,《总录》二十七卷。明杨慎撰。旧时考证诸书异同的著作都冠以“丹铅”二字,因“古之罪人,以丹书其籍”,杨慎被流放,名在罪人之列,故以“丹铅”二字寄意。凡《余录》十七卷,《续录》十二卷,《闰录》九卷,杨慎又自为删削,为《摘录》十三卷。首刻于嘉靖二十六年。后其弟子梁佐又删同校异,分类合辑,定为二十八卷,名为《总录》。其书考证材料丰富,不乏新见,但因涉及范围太广,难免芜杂之病,且杨慎务奇好胜,取名太急,稍成卷帙,即付刻印流布,甚至伪撰古书,以助论证,态度不够严谨,难免疏误。明人王世贞评其“工于证经而疏于解经,详于稗史而忽于正史,详于诗事而略于诗旨,求之宇宙之外而失之耳目之内”,非常中肯。时人陈耀文作《正杨》一书,胡应麟《少室山房笔丛》专设《丹铅新录》和《艺林伐山》两部分,专门攻驳杨慎之误。《丹铅余录》有《四库全书》本,《丹铅续录》有《宝颜堂秘笈》本,《丹铅杂录》有《函海》本,《丹铅总录》有明万历、嘉靖刊本等。
