泰国的“中立”与“独立生存”

泰国首相对路透社记者谈话，谓“想英国对于泰国向越南提出之要求，定予同情”。此种想当然之谈，恐怕未必为英国所能承认，然而泰国与日本缔结所谓《友好条约》，却显然不是能使英国同情的事。泰国首相谓“当战事将爆发时，法国曾拟与泰国缔结军事协定，但泰国谢绝之，因欲保持中立也”。不知与日本缔协定，是否保持中立的最好办法？在日本“友好”下“维持独立生存”，其去独立生存盖亦远矣。
