甘曜湘修。莎车，原称叶尔羌，清光绪八年(1882)置直隶州，二十八年改府。曜湘，光绪末署莎车府知府，奉饬采集乡土志以为小学课本，遂修是志。列五门13目，略述该地历史、政治、经济、地理、民族等。内容极为简略，仅2000余字。惟所载民族、户口、物产、商务等，对研究新疆民族史、经济史有一定参考价值。有光绪三十四年(1908)抄本、1955年湖北省图书馆辑《新疆乡土志稿二十九种》打印本、1976年新疆图书馆重印本。
