梨树县原名奉化县，古称偏脸城，俗称买卖街。当时奉化县地处边北扼要之地，是“盗寇出没”“顽民盗风不息”之地，统治者为了教化当地“顽民”，故大肆宣传要“遵奉王化”，因此起名为奉化县．梨树城并非是一座城，而是一个小村落，“传闻其地多种梨因名之”。
