因记狐异，复忆一事，同县袁文薮毓麟，故居杭州城内广兴巷，屯纸为业，一日，纸堆之中，忽然火起，顾亦无所毁损。人知其为狐祟，而文薮是时方主无鬼之论，邀韩靖澄同观之，果非传者之谬也，因吓之曰：“如不即戢，将控诸城隍，火竟不戢，且四面磷磷，此止彼作。”二人惧而并去，而袁氏之业自此衰。此文薮目击，可为传信。
