赵叔之谦，吾浙绍兴人，以书及刻石擅声，举人，致官知县。与李莼客为中表而莼客以妄人斥之，然人谓莼客毁誉有以己意者，惟李审言〔详〕《脞语》记叔私造魏碑以售于世，书有润格，如应亲友之作，于首一字必淡墨书之，使之有别。又由杨惺吾介绍京师汇文堂为刻《续寰宇访碑录》而不付工资，则叔竟无行至此耶？
