予曾将人事之好歹，两两并列，撰书一卷，令伥伥者读之而知所趋避矣。年来复见人之言行举止，不当于理，而犯天人之恶者，比比皆然。因又另续十类，各以“惜”字贯首。要知“惜”者，有怜爱痛惜之义存焉。惟人不知此“惜”也，所以易染种种过愆。其于言语，尤为更甚，是以书内《惜官》之条独多，愿读者俱加自惜。予知今后有益于身心世道者，又更多矣。但予自愧何人，敢于上续东坡诸才子之貂，一而复再，诚不知羞耻之至也。天基石成金撰。
