孔子评论当时一位公众人物（宁武子，姓宁，名俞，卫国大夫）说：“当国家政府井然有序、司法公正严明的时候，这个人就像一个大彻大悟的人。但是当国家政府混乱不堪、司法不公的时候，他就显得好像一窍不通。很容易像他那样显得无所不能，但是却不容易学他那样，在别人看来好像一窍不通的样子呀。”
