有个侯国的贵族（公叔文子）死后获得谥号为“文”——法语意思为：努力勤奋之人——当他活着的时候被召唤到政府任职，任命了一名从前自己的随从作为同僚。对于这件事情，孔子说: “这样的人，当然无愧于‘文’的谥号。”
