明章世纯撰。六卷。世纯字大力,临川(今属江西)人,生卒年不详。天启元年(1621)举人,官至柳州府知府。闻起义军攻陷京师,悲愤而卒。世纯与艾南英、罗万藻、陈际泰并称“临川四家”。其中《大学》一卷,《中庸》一卷,《论语》上、下各一卷,《孟子》上、下各一卷。对四书重要章节大旨进行阐述。书前有天启丁卯年(1627)章世纯所著的《序》,后有世纯自作《四书留书跋》。仿刘敞《春秋意林》的体例,分章发论。《四库全书总目提要》:“世纯与艾南英、罗万藻、陈际泰号临川四家,悉以制义名一时,而世纯运思尤锐。其诂释四书,往往於文字之外标举精义，发前人所未发。不规规於训诂，而亦未尝如讲良知者至於滉漾以自恣。扬雄所谓“好深湛之思”者，世纯有焉。
