元始八威龙文经，撰人不详。似出于唐宋间。一卷，收入《正统道藏》洞真部本文类。经文分作八节，论述修真炼养之道。大致以子母、阴阳、水火、动静、虚实等相对概念。阐述守神、固精、和炁等炼养术。文句模仿老庄，颇为晦涩。如第五节云：「恍恍偬偬，火中生神；杳杳冥冥，水中生精。火炎于上，七返生神；水流就下，六居生精，神会精以通天地之灵。」又如第七节云：「虚而不实，所以火生；静而不动，所以水清。知此道者，性定可以通吾之神，心宁可以使吾炁之流行。」
