经名：玄珠歌。原题通玄先生，当为唐道士张果。底本出：《正统道藏》洞玄部众衍类。“玄珠”，本是一个哲学的用语，首出于《庄子·天地》。篇中之“玄珠”，本意是比喻道家的形上本体之“道”。由于“玄珠”渗入了神秘性内涵， 因而道教对其进行了借用与发挥。在外丹术中， 玄珠是水银的隐名。水银之所以被称为“玄珠”， 与以其作为药物而炼制成的金丹被看作“道”的象征有关。《阴真君金石五相类》云： “天地至精，莫过于道。道之至微，莫过于气，安气养神，莫过于水银。”内丹术中， 玄珠是内丹的别名。张伯端《悟真篇》云： “夫炼金液还丹者，则难遇而易成。要须洞晓阴阳，深达造化，方能超二气于黄道，会二性于元宫，攒簇五行，和合四象，龙吟虎啸，夫唱妇随，玉鼎汤煎，金炉活炽，始得玄珠有象，太乙归真。”
