本篇记子明向李昉传道之语，并转述逍遥之训。逍遥曰：“雍也共讯兮，太洞真元兮，仙君洪慈兮。”是知逍遥即金逍遥子时雍，《上方大洞真元妙经品》亦是其弟子所为，其经后序可证。子明当与时雍同时，李昉又与子明同时，皆金人。此李昉非是北宋初撰《太平御览》诸书之文正公。本篇作者称子明为师，当亦为金元之人。本篇劝人传经度人。
