关令尹喜，周大夫也。老子西游，喜望见有紫气浮关，知真人当过，候物色而边之，果得老子。老子亦知其奇，为着书。喜既得老子书，亦自着书九篇，名《关尹子》。今陕州灵宝县太初观，乃古函关候见老子处。终南宗圣宫，乃关尹故宅，周穆王修其草楼，改号楼观，建老子祠，道观之兴，实祖于此。老子授经后，西出大散关，复会于成都青羊肆，赐号文始先生，所着书，后为《文始真经》。
