《女青鬼律》卷3、《太上洞渊神咒经》卷20均提到天师道的 《黄书》，知天师道《黄书》为六朝古籍。朱越利《 考》 (待刊)推测本经源于四世纪黄赤经，盖更名于东晋恭帝元熙二年 (420年)至梁武帝天监十七年(518年) 间，并有所改动。本经 称《黄书》为张道陵授，盖依托之辞。本经称《黄书》共八卷，本 经为第八卷。述祈禳斋醮之房中术。
