易筋、洗髓本是道家术语。《云笈七签.延陵君修真大略》中已有“易髓”、“易筋”的说法，更早的还可以在魏晋时期出现的道家求仙小说《汉武帝内传》中找到渊源。《汉武帝内传》已有“一年易气，二年易血，三年易精，四年易脉，五年易髓，六年易骨，七年易筋，八年易发，九年易形”的记载，表述的是道家练气求长生的一种理想。
