《悟真篇》者，宋紫阳真人天台张平叔所撰也。紫阳出海蟾刘祖派下，为南宗第一祖，悯世人不知金丹大道，堕落旁门，特作此书，令学者穷理尽性以至于命耳。此书源头出自《阴符》、《道德》两经，其作用则略仿《参同契》，大抵是恐泄天机不敢直说，故有药物、炉鼎、火候之法象，有乾坤、坎离、龙虎、铅汞之寓言。奈何言之愈谆，世人愈加茫昧。孰知真者，即人人具足之真性命也。性命在先天本来一体，在后天必须全修。大约有为之功所以了命，无为之道所以了性，性命俱了，适还其具足之本来，有为即无为，后天即先天也，所谓无上至真之道也。
