【道冲，而用之或不盈。渊兮，似万物之宗。挫其锐，解其纷，和其光，同其尘。湛兮，其若存。吾不知谁之子，象帝之先。】
圣人无为之道总在虚而用之耳。冲：虚也。道以虚为用，其量包天下、国家，而不见其盈，渊渊乎若万物之统宗。挫世锐而不损，解世纷而不劳，以其虚消锐纷也。和世光而不掩，同世尘而不污，以其虚忘光尘也。只觉其冲然之体，常凝湛然之性，若有存而实无所存，问谁子而知谁子也，其名象在天帝之先乎？盖所谓无始之始，太初之初，先天之天也。
