四卷。底本出处：《正统道藏》洞神部玉诀类。参校本：敦煌卷子P.2375 号。本书鲜见其它传本。唐玄宗于开元二十年(732年)或二十一年(733年)注《老子》,刻于石幢立在各州龙兴观、开元观前。以《河上公注》为底本,发挥了其理身理国的思想,影响深远。其\"身国同治\"的生命政治学从内容上可概括为:法道合德;虚静无为;持守三宝;安分寡欲。该书从诠释宗旨和方法论上体现了其政治化倾向及阶级立场,具有调和儒道的特点,其中还试图消解《老子》关于提醒统治者保持应有的警醒和忧患意识的思想。其要旨在于\"理身理国\",却在唐玄宗执政晚期爆发了\"安史之乱\",这是颇值得深思的。
