明童承叙撰。承叙字汉臣，沔阳人，正德辛巳进士，官至左春坊左庶子。是编纪太祖平陈友谅事。首载宋濂《平江汉颂》一首。次即载《史臣赞》一首。而以《友谅兴灭本末》附於其后，谓之《外传》。
