王某者，在湘南北门外种菜为业。妻周氏，生一子，养一童媳。尚未成婚，时年均十五岁矣。日前因祖父阴寿，杀鸡一，命媳在火炉房煮之。周氏则自往厨房煮饭。其子见父母俱不在前，兴致勃发，在火炉房向其未婚妻接吻。妻拒之，乃大声疾呼曰：“妈妈你快来瞧。”周氏以为其子偷鸡吃，在厨房中大呼曰：“孩子不要吃，还未敬祖宗哩。”其子以为母已知其秘密，吓得不敢归家吃饭。其媳私往园中说明，其子方归。邻居闻之，为之大笑。
