京师有某甲者，称驻京英国使馆地点，向为某亲王府第。某甲曾瘗白镪二十四万两于地下，窖藏深固。今其地皮为使馆所占据，其地下窖藏，尚完全为其所有权，要求英使许其在使馆中指定地点，自行掘出。英使以其言近荒唐，断不能即行允准，刻转饬警察厅派警士偕同某甲赴使馆指定地点，必令指出证据，方准发掘云。
