《皇明异典述》明·王世贞撰。共八卷，记录了明朝政治的奇闻异事。夫国之有典也，则号令庆罚皆在焉。其曰典者何？志常也。曰异典者何？志非常也。诸创国者皆不为常者也。其业可大而法可久，习之则为常，是故曰典也。自古有天下之盛者，莫过唐、虞、三代。唐有天下，举亩{亩厶}之鳏民而委之政，既得政则绁天子之所，任岳牧侯伯而﹃之。既﹃之而复峻用其子，其后辄举祖宗之人民社稷而付之。商有天下，举五就之遁臣而委之政，既托孤而废其主，废而旋复焉，尊之曰阿衡，而待之以不臣。周借其国，付渭川之钓叟，使埒父称而师事之，又以其幼子托之於介弟，使据君位而朝诸侯。其殁也，又崇以天子之礼乐。典而异者孰并哉！
