四卷。清芮长恤撰。长恤字蒿子，原名城，字严尹。溧阳(今属江苏)人。前明诸生。生卒年及事迹不详。朱熹《通鉴纲目》包括正纲和分注。因为系出自朱子，故其间舛漏，世皆牵强解释。长恤考其本源，知分注非出于朱子之手，故凡分注之删削《通鉴》，以至失其本事的，都列原文某句某字之下。某句某字在前，推求事理为之考辨在后，使证佐分明，具有条理。长恤能冲破门户之见，不生回护之私，实为《纲目》之大功臣。有抄本，《四库全书》本。
