俞蛟，会稽山阴人，字清源，号梦厂居士。自幼失学，一生不得志。乾嘉年间曾于豫、楚、西粤、燕、赵、齐、鲁等地“辗转为幕”，“奔走四方”，见闻较广。《春明丛说》二十九则。其所闻所见，辄留意于笔端，总名之曰《梦厂杂著》，《春明丛说》即其中的一种。其杂记官衙内幕，市井百态，琐事轶闻居多。其笔法与《聊斋》相似，然“其叙事一本于现实……盖摒去《聊斋》、《阅微》、《新齐谐》、《今古奇观》之诞妄，以历史家之眼光加以组织而成”，具有独特的史料价值，为清代野史笔记中的名篇。今据民国石印本整理。
