明陆深撰。深字子渊，号俨山，上海人，弘治乙丑进士，官至詹事府詹事，兼翰林院学士，卒谥文裕，事迹具《明史·文苑传》。世宗嘉靖十八年，南幸承天，相度显陵。深时官学士，命掌行在翰林院印扈行。是编乃纪其往返程顿，自二月癸丑至四月壬子，凡六十日之事。《南巡日录》中载有《永乐后内阁诸老历官年月》一篇，乃得之於孙元者。深最留心史学，故随所见而录之云。
