近人胡思敬撰。二册,四卷。记录清代掌故一百五十七篇。作者居京师七年,经历甲午、戊戌、庚子三大事变,以当时史官失职,宫廷机密要闻无人记述,故撰是书。所记多为见而知之者。它以笔记的形式分条记载清季掌故、轶事, 并且穿插作 者评述史事的札记, 各条皆有题目, 是胡思敬在京为官期间随时记载、陆续撰写, 清亡后汇编一起, 分为四卷。
