短篇小说。最初发表于1930年9月《小说月报》21卷第9号,署名蒲牢。先后收入大江书铺1931年5月出版的《宿莽》及人民文学出版社1959年3月出版的《茅盾文集》第7卷与1980年4月出版的《茅盾短篇小说集》。截取《水浒》里玉臂匠金大坚刻石碣的情节演义而成。主要通过金大坚与圣手书生萧让的对话,表现军师吴用策略的奥妙——利用暗刻石碣计谋把梁山众多出身不同、阶级有异的人团结起来。同时也从侧面说明了农民斗争团结的重要。
