短篇小说。最初发表于1936年12月“开明书店创业10周年纪念专刊”《十年续集》上,署名茅盾。先后收入良友图书印刷公司1937年出版的《烟云集》、人民文学出版社1959年出版的《茅盾文集》8卷、1980年出版的《茅盾短篇小说集》与1985年出版的《茅盾全集》9集。讲述张不忍、潘云仙这对青年教师夫妇回故乡正赶上备战风,他们义务为民众做有益于战备的事的遭遇。豪绅奸商官僚相勾结诬陷这对夫妇为汉奸,罪证竟是手粗大。茅盾说该文“讲国民党的所谓战备活动在某个小县城里惹起的一场风波”。通过风波,赞扬张不忍夫妇的爱国抗日热情,暴露国民党当局包庇汉奸、打击抗日力量的罪恶。
