当代长篇小说。李英儒著。作家出版社1954年出版。人民文学出版社在1959年出版第2版时,作者写了《后记》。小说以1942年日本帝国主义侵略军对冀中地区的“五一大扫荡”为背景,描写滹沱河岸沿河村的抗日群众,在共产党的领导下,同日本侵略者进行浴血奋战,支援部队,粉碎敌人的屡次包围和“清剿”,保全抗日革命力量的艰苦斗争历程。书中塑造了村长王金山、农会主任赵成儿以及青年民兵二青等共产党员形象,同时勾勒了地主汉奸、维持会长张老东的阴险狠毒的嘴脸。作者在《后记》中说:“小说中的人物和故事,在相当大的程度上是依照真人真事写成的,情节的组织结构方面,大体也吻合当时的具体情况。”这是作者主要依据自己的亲身经历创作的第一部长篇小说。小说出版后,被译为朝鲜文和日文本。作品中的若干章节,曾定名为《地下的战斗》、《沿河村的血迹》等作为通俗读物出版了单行本。
