唐崔敬嗣为房州刺史。中宗安置在房州，官吏多无礼，敬嗣独申礼敬，供给丰赡，中宗常德之。
及登位，有益州长史崔敬嗣，既同名姓，每进拟官，皆御笔超拜之者数四。
后引与语，知误。访敬嗣，已卒，遣安石授其子注官。后官至显达，其孙即光远也。
