严震镇山南，有一人乞钱三百千，去就过傲。震召子公弼等问之，公弼曰：“此诚不可。旨辄如此，乃患风耳，大人不足应之。”
震怒曰：“尔必坠吾门，只可劝吾力行善事，奈可劝吾吝惜金帛？且此人不辨，向吾乞三百千，的非凡也。”
命左右准数与之。于是三川之士，归心恐后，亦无造次过求者。
