长篇小说。王统照著。载《小说月报》1923年14卷1—5号，商务印书馆1929年初版。小说通过琼符、苕英、瑞玉三个妇女不幸命运的描写，控诉封建势力摧残妇女的罪行，反映了作者对妇女命运的热切关注。省城大学生赵慕琏暑期返乡度假期间，目睹其叔父、地主赵建堂蹂躏和迫害被其强占的两个姨太太和一个婢女，产生极大义愤，于是他制定周密计划，将三个女子救出魔窟。故事情节较为集中完整，人物形象较为生动;虽有对人生问题的探索，但更注重对黑暗社会现实的揭露与批判。
