近代陈天华著。作于清光绪二十九年 (1903)，初刊于日本东京。全书两万余字。指出当时中 国由于帝国主义列强的侵略和清政府的卖国，“亡国灭 种就在眼前”的深重危机。呼吁“做官的”、“当兵的”、 “世家贵族”、“读书士子”、“富的”、“穷的”、“新旧两 党”、“江湖朋友”、“教民”、“妇女”等各个阶层、各种职 业的中国人警醒起来，投入到反对帝国主义和满清政 府的斗争，担负起救国的责任。本书曾多次为革命党人秘密翻印。清政府则多次下令查禁，上海当局并于 1904年制造了“警世钟案”，迫害书商。后编入《陈天华 集》。
