按《甲乙剩言》：长卿，新安人，能诗。其内人精于紩绣。
尝观其绣佛，纤密绚烂；而发丝眉目，光相衣纹，俨若道玄运管。余所见宋绣最多，此绣当不多让，即谓之针王可也。王行甫、汪明生诸君，多以篇咏重之。第性严妒，长卿往朔方谒周中丞，虑有外私，使向绣佛前，受邪淫戒而去。
