乐律学专著。二卷。宋蔡元定撰。约成书于宋孝宗淳熙十三年(1186年)。蔡元定,字季通,号西山。生于宋绍兴五年(1135年),卒于庆元四年(1198年)。建阳(今属福建)人。为南宋音律学家和理学家。朱熹之弟子。受平原郡王韩侂胄罢黜理学影响,被贬,死于舂陵。著有《律吕新书》、《燕乐书》(已佚,仅《宋史·乐志》中存数百字)、《洪范解》、《大衍详说》等。《律吕新说》二卷含二十三章,前附序。上卷为《律吕本源》,共十三章;下卷为《律吕辨证》,共十章。该书提出在传统十二律外加用六个变律构成十八律的理论。
