南齐王僧虔著。王僧虔其祖王珣(字伯远)与王羲之同宗族,多有书法著述,今传有《书赋》、《论书表》、《又论书》、《笔意赞》等几千字。《笔意赞》其文最短,全文不足200百字。然而所论极精,历来脍炙人口。《笔意赞》是书法创作要论。首先立论曰:“书之妙道,神彩为上,形质次之,兼之者方可绍于古人”。神彩与形质论,缘于《淮南子·原道训》,以此为书法审美的原则。
