南朝陶弘景撰。。是作者写给梁武帝的论书信札。陶弘景,字通明,自号华阳隐居,人称“陶隐居”,为齐梁间著名书法家。梁武帝萧衍为书法史上帝王书法家中的佼佼者之一。《论书启》主要评“钟张”、“二王”(钟繇、张芝、王羲之、王献之)之优劣。萧衍在《论书启》中曾对钟王“褒贬大备”,一言以蔽之曰:“元常(钟)老骨”,“子敬(献之)懦肌”,“逸少(羲之)得进退之间”,陶对萧的“玉科”奉若神明,对王献之书风斥之谓“沦迷”,二人所见略同。
