一卷。作者不详。书前有明代作家杨慎题辞，故明沈德符《敝帚轩剩语》认为此书是杨慎伪作。鲁迅也持此说。《杂事秘辛》之“秘辛”二字，类似卷帙甲乙名目。其“杂事”，主要记叙汉桓帝刘志懿献梁皇后被选及册立的故事。作为小说手法，其中写吴姁至皇后住处审视一段，描绘细腻，颇有自然主义色彩，具明代秽亵文学的特征。所以，从艺术手法上考察，此书文辞艳丽、淫靡，类似传奇，但汉人无此体裁、风格。其版本有《秘册汇函》本、《津逮秘书》本、《绿窗女史》本、《五朝小说》本、《汉魏丛书》本、《四库全书》本、《龙威秘书》本等。
