轶事小说集。南朝梁沈约作。原三卷。已佚。今存佚文五十余条,记东晋宋齐名人遗闻轶事。沈氏《俗说》主要记东晋和南朝宋社会上层人物佚闻杂事,内容相当杂繁琐碎。有的写妒妇美妾的新奇轶事,有的写士人之间的调笑戏谑和庸俗无聊的日常生活,只为博得读者一笑而已,其思想价值和史料价值相对较小。大约成书于南朝齐、梁年间。当时以此名书的有两种。《隋书·经籍志》子部杂家类著录: “《俗说》三卷,沈约撰,梁五卷。”又小说家类《世说》刘孝标注本下附注: “梁有《俗说》一卷,亡。”清马国翰据此以为后者为刘著。两书均已散佚。今有《玉函山房辑佚书》本一卷,题沈约撰。鲁迅《古小说钩沉》本,不分卷,不题撰人,然《中国小说史略》以其佚文属沈约。两辑本均为五十二条,其中只有四条互异。
