交城县南十数里，常夜有怪见于人，多悸而病且死焉。里人患之久矣。其后里中人有执弧矢夜行者，县南见一魁然若巨人状，衣朱衣，以帛巾蒙其首，缓步而来，欹偃若甚醉者。里人惧，即引满而发，果中焉。其怪遂退。里人惧少解，即北走至旅舍，且语其事。明日抵县城，见郭之西丹桂，有一矢贯其上，果里人之矢。取之以归，镞有血甚多。白于县令，令命焚之。由是县南无患。
