全一卷。陈那菩萨造，唐代义净译。收于大正藏第三十一册。义净撰之南海寄归内法传卷四列有陈那撰之因明八论，其中之‘取事施设论’或与本书为同一书。内容论释佛陀接化众生，皆依假说施设之事而宣讲法要。取因假设，有方便假立之意。‘因’指总聚、相续、分位差别等，世间之事皆为基于该三项而立之假说，故不得于此假说上执着一性、异性、非有等。推究本论之‘假说’意义，可略窥陈那对唯识说之论释。
