唐大慈恩寺沙门释玄奘译，佛为金刚手菩萨，说易成无损之咒。有异译者，谓之秘密八名陀罗尼经。佛告金刚手菩萨，有八名咒，受持之者，广大之威德易成，秘密之神用无损，故说八名咒。八名者神咒之八种德名也，一功德宝藏，二庄严象耳，三善勇猛，四胜谛云，五成炽然，六微妙色，七严饰，八金刚。
