刘宋罽宾国沙门昙摩蜜多译，佛在竹林，有新出家比丘问毕报施恩事？佛以入僧数，修僧业，得僧善利，三法答之。次问发大乘心而出家者，具三法否？佛言，不在三法。比丘三致疑问。佛三止之。次放白毫相光照大千界，集诸大众。舍利弗复致三请，佛为说阿耨达池喻，广显发心功德。谓无人能报恩者，唯除漏尽，及发大心耳。次较持经功德，及为发心者说性空法。魔军落地，佛亦敕其持经。
