全一卷。西晋竺法护译。收于大正藏第三册。本经为佛之本生谭，有广说、略说二本。内容系佛陀述说其过去世为鹿母时，生有二子。一日，鹿母不慎落于网中，因对其子关爱心切，故而向猎师请求允准其返所，将二子安顿妥当，即还来就死。后鹿母如言赴约，猎者为鹿母之笃守信义所感，遂释放鹿母归去，并告请国王，令禁狩猎，王亦感于鹿之仁义之行，终禁杀猎。
