中国佛学会会名说明
余初提议发起全国代表会议，以成立一中国佛教会。嗣张静江、蔡孑民诸公，主张改称中国佛学会，遂提出与旅京各发起人商决，先成立中国佛学会筹备处，再召集全国佛教代表会议。佛教之教字，本指“言教”，与今语“学说”同义；以学代教，理无不可，而能较顺时代之心理。至先设中国佛学会筹备处，然中国佛学会会章，仍待全国佛教代表会议议订，亦不违原议也。（见海刊九卷五期）
